On behalf of the organizing committee, it is our pleasure to invite you to the 1st International Symposium on Glycovirology, which will be held from 02 to 04 May 2018 at the monastery in Schöntal, Germany.
This conference is organized by a recently established research consortium on glycovirology called ViroCarb (, and it will feature keynote talks from invited speakers (Niklas Arnberg, Alison Ashcroft, Geert-Jan Boons, Rick Cummings, Mark von Itzstein, Ludger Johannes, Julie Pfeiffer and Thomas Smith) as well as a “This Week In Virology” (TWIV) session hosted by Vincent Racaniello and talks that we will select from submitted abstracts.
With this symposium, we aim to bridge disciplines and stimulate discussions among scientists working in the emerging field of glycovirology. Topics will range from structural biology and drug design to cell biology and the role of glycans in viral pathogenesis.
The monastery is located between Stuttgart and Würzburg, close to Frankfurt Airport, Germany’s largest airport.
