Post-doctoral Positions
The Swiss Federal Institute of Virology and Immunoprophylaxis (IVI) is the accredited institute for the diagnosis, surveillance and control of highly contagious epizootics such as avian influenza, foot-and-mouth disease and classical swine fever. Current research at the institute, which has close links with the University of Bern, focuses on the genetics of virus virulence, virus modulation of porcine and avian dendritic cells and macrophages, RNA-based vaccine development and vaccine targeting to den-dritic cells.
The IVI has a number of post-doctoral positions (2-3 year duration) currently open, to work on:
(i) RNA-based vaccine delivery by targeting dendritic cells
(ii) Influenza virus adaption in domestic birds.
(iii) characterizing the role of the interplay of foot-and-mouth disease virus with dendritic cells and B lymphocytes for protective immune responses.
Interested candidates holding a PhD with experience in virology and/or immunology should contact research@ivi.admin.ch, with the mention “IVI Post-Doc Position”.
